A good deal of the building work we do starts as a roofing job that turned out to need something else: a chimney needing a rebuild rather than repointing, a wall letting water in above a failed roofline, groundwork to get drainage away from a house.

Whatever the size, the sequence is the same. We look at it, we tell you what we think it needs and what it will cost, and you get that in writing before anybody starts. If the job changes once it is opened up, you hear about it before the work happens rather than on the invoice.

Damp inside a house is very often blamed on the roof when the roof is fine. The usual culprits are a blocked gutter soaking one patch of wall, failed pointing letting driven rain through on the weather side, cracked render holding water behind it, or a chimney with no cap taking rain straight down the flue.

Being able to do both sides of that means we can tell you which it actually is, instead of quoting for the half we happen to do.
