Roof replacement in Folkestone
New roofs for Folkestone homes and businesses, built to last on an exposed coast.
At Hythe & Folkestone Roofers we carry out full roof replacements in Folkestone for homes and businesses, in tile, slate, pitched and flat systems.
Stripping the old covering back is what makes a replacement worth doing: it lets the structure be inspected, hidden problems repaired, and the new roof perform the way it was designed to.
Folkestone's exposure to the Channel makes the detail work matter. Ventilation, underlay, fixings and leadwork are where a roof on this coast is won or lost, so that is where we spend the time.
Every replacement is fully assessed first, and you will receive a clear, no obligation quote before any work begins.

What a replacement in Folkestone involves
Strip back to the timbers, inspect and repair what is underneath, then a breathable membrane, new treated battens and the covering, with the lead dressed in at every abutment. Nothing is laid over the top of an old roof.
On the exposed elevations the detailing is where the job is won or lost. Verges, ridges and the upwind edges take wind driven rain that a sheltered roof never sees, and a roof specified for inland conditions will not last as long here.
Terraces and neighbours
Replacing one roof in a terrace means dealing with the junction to the properties either side, and often a shared valley or parapet. We will tell you at quote stage where your roof stops and somebody else's starts, and what that means for the work.
It is a much easier conversation to have before the scaffolding goes up than after.
